Talk on a Space
Where people at a Space talk to each other, and how to join in.
A Space's conversation lives at the top of its Circles page, under the heading Discussion. It is the Space's own Circle, the same room you would open from any of its circles. Posts and comments stay there. It is not a second feed, and it is never called Community.
Finding it
Open a Space you can see and tap Circles. The conversation is the first thing on that page: the same composer and the same posts that Circle already has, with Add a comment under each post. The Space's other circles are listed underneath it.
An older link ending in /discussion still works. It brings you to the same place.
If you have not joined yet, the page says so where the conversation would be, and tells you what would let you in. A waitlist spot is not a seat in the conversation.
If you run the Space
The conversation band appears for you even when the Circle is off, so you can turn it on. That switch lives under Manage, on Circles. Turning it on is what opens the room for everyone else.
People who have not joined the Space are never shown a door onto a room that is not there.
What this is not
- Circles is the same page. It lists every other group this Space runs, below the conversation.
- Your people is still the staff roster.
- Contact is a different door. Discussion is where people at a Space talk to each other; Contact is where you reach the Space itself, privately, through its own form. A message you send there goes to whoever runs the Space, not into the room. Contact shows up only on Spaces that have filled in a way to reach them, so you will not see it everywhere.
- Posts on your home feed are still your wall. Discussion is only this Space.
