Just the timer, no fluff
Want a plain breathing or sitting timer without the extra stuff? Here is how to use Mindless with nothing else attached.
Some people want a timer and nothing else. No streaks to protect, no badges, no chat. Frequency can be that.
Where is the timer?
It's called Mindless. Open it from the Zap menu, or go to Mindless. Pick Be Still for a sit or a breathing round, or Get Moving for a walk or a run. Set the minutes and start.
Which breathing pattern should I use?
Keep it simple. Breathe in for 4 and out for 6, for a few minutes. Or try the even one: in for 5, out for 5, which works out to about six breaths a minute. Neither needs anything but a quiet minute.
Do I have to do the game part?
No. Your minutes are logged as Airtime, and you'll earn Zaps whether you look at them or not. You can ignore all of it and just use the timer.
Is there any evidence behind this?
Slow breathing and short sits are some of the most studied simple practices around. Our longer articles cite the research inside the page, like How to calm down fast. Read what's there and decide for yourself.
